Brisbane
- Australia
Heading
southwards, we sailed inside Fraser Island and through to Brisbane. While most
international cruising boats make their way right up the river to pile moorings
off the Botanical gardens, we happened to sail into Moreton Bay on a weekend, and
when we spied a fleet of local boats ending a regatta and entering a creek
mouth, we followed.. and fortuitously found ourselves in the extremely
hospitable 'Queensland Cruising Yacht Club' A pile mooring was arranged for
Fallado right at the entrance to Cabbage Tree Creek and we spent several
enjoyable weeks there before continuing on further south. Aboard with us was an
additional crew member, Helmut's younger daughter Birgit, who had flown in from
Germany. She would stay with us as we stopped off in the Gold Coast, Coffs
Harbour, Ballina, and Port Stephens, then fly out from Sydney
