the island of Gran Canaria, the most populated of the Canary Islands. One
evening, at a party on another yacht, Helmut meets me, Meryle, a young
Australian woman enjoying an adventurous backpacking trip around the world. They
click, and spend several more months cruising the Canary Islands together.
